Central to the success of a diagnostic laboratory is a commitment to quality assurance. At PathCare Kenya quality assurance is one of our core values and is central to the way in which we operate.
Our quality assurance procedures are observed from the time of sample collection through to the analysis of the sample, and the dispatch of test results.

System (QMS)
We will relentlessly seek to improve our Quality Management System
Our Senior management will review the Quality Management System annually to ensure its ongoing

Each employee is responsible for his or her input towards maintaining the rigour of the Quality
Management System
Quality Management- what it means in practice
Sample collection: All clients receive a handbook detailing what samples are needed for each test,
and any special requirements in the handling of samples. This ensures the specimens are submitted
correctly and without contamination
Test analyses: at the start of each day all our equipment is tested to ensure optimal performance.
Internal quality control materials are run twice a day. All control results are closely monitored and no
patient samples are processed in the unlikely event that a test parameter is out of range.
External Quality assurance: In association with international experts monthly external tests are
conducted on selected samples
Reports: All results are electronically printed ensuring the elimination of transcription errors
